Audio Production

All samples have been written, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Ryan in his home studio (except as noted).  Most instrumentation was also performed/programmed by Ryan.

Ryan uses Logic Pro X with Waves, UA, iZotope, Softube, SoundToys, and Kuassa plugins.

Podcasts

Provided the main theme music for “A Moments’ Portal”. Through the first series of Moment’s portal, you will travel to Egypt, Kenya, Irak, Brasil, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. You will meet makers, hackers, designers, and community builders who face challenges related to humanitarian response after an earthquake, setback after a building collapse, the support of the global community in times of financial difficulties, or the peer-to-peer mentorship and empowerment of diversity in tech, personal career paths and how a goat ate the plan.

A retro-inspired teaser video for a corporate offsite event. All post-production, editing, and music composition / sound design done in-house. Custom motion graphic for “High Performance Business Systems” also provided by MLS. 3D logo and animation were outsourced.

Music video created using Disco Diffusion with song lyrics as text prompts. Responsible for art direction, video/audio composition, recording, & production.

This music video contains a custom spectrum analyzer that was designed in Motion to match the album art.

Game Development

Ryan uses Unity (C#), PyGame (Python), PlayDate SDK (Pulp Script & Lua), Rider, Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code, and GitHub.

Comet is an unreleased puzzle adventure game for the PlayDate.

In-game sound design and trailer post-production support provided by Ryan. SFX produced wth a mix of field recorded sample manipulation and various synthesizers.

The result of a 96 hour GameJame hosted by itch.io, Frankenmind is a 2D retro-styled action adventure game.

Ryan provided all sfx/music & level design and supported pixel art asset development.

Dodge fingers, turd-streakers, buttflys and more in this retro-style 2D endless runner. Collect powers to earn bullets, but use them wisely – ammunition is scarce! Each level presents new challenges and a quicker speed. Hone your reflexes and fight for placement on the leaderboard by avoiding enemies and carefully conserving ammunition.

Farty Bird was released on Steam for Mac / Windows in June 2021.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Network was developed with VB.NET as a WPF application. It was delivered for a company offsite as a team-building exercise. 10 teams competed in real-time, with a live scoreboard available in-game.

Ryan served as game designer, developer, sound designer / composer, and co-producer.

Cleared to Launch is a ‘choose your own adventure’ game developed in ASP.NET and hosted as an Azure Web App.

Ryan served as the game designer, co-producer, and developed the narration/timeline using Twine. He also developed, recorded, edited and produced the tutorial video presented here.
